Script Details
🚡 Cablecar
Cablecar puts the Mount Chiliad cable car back into service on your server. The two cabins run the real cable route, open and close their doors, carry passengers to the summit and come back down. Everyone sees them in the same place, because the server simulates the whole ride.
🛰️ Server-authoritative sync
- One simulation on the server, sent out as a snapshot roughly three times a second
- Clients predict the movement in between, so the cabin glides instead of jumping from one update to the next
- Ping compensation, so players on a bad connection still see the car where it really is
- The script corrects drift gradually, without teleports or rubber-banding
- Anyone joining mid-ride gets the current state immediately
🚪 Boarding and riding
- You board by walking through the open doors, without a key press or a marker to stand on
- The cabin carries passengers at the exact spot they picked inside it
- Late boarding works too, for whoever steps in while the doors are already closing
- Every client draws the other passengers from the cabin's own position, so nobody floats or jitters
- Optional mid-route stop:
Ehalts the car andEsets it off again
⚙️ One config file
- Station wait with random jitter, so departures never land on a fixed schedule
- Global speed multiplier, from a quarter of the original pace up to three times it
- An option that keeps both cars parked until somebody actually boards
- Map blips: sprite, colour, scale and label, or switched off
- Values outside the accepted range get clamped instead of taking the resource down
Cable paths, ride physics, networking and streaming are all handled internally and need no setup.
📈 Performance
- Objects only exist within 350 m of a car. Further out, the client checks a distance twice a second and does nothing else
- Snapshots go to the players who can see a cabin or are riding one, never to the whole server
- The per-frame code path allocates nothing
🌍 Languages
English, Italian, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Czech are included. Every line sits in its own locale file, so you can edit them or add a file for your own language.
🧩 Compatibility
Fully standalone. It needs no framework, no database and no inventory, and behaves the same on ESX, QBCore, Qbox or a bare server. Drop the folder in resources, ensure it, and it runs.
👉 Why DS-Cablecar
The cable car works in story mode and is dead in multiplayer: the cabins sit at their stations and never move. This one runs the whole route again, and it runs it the same way for everyone on the mountain.
